Michael 'Mac' McCormick was a founding member of the Zero Ted Band and to this day, considers it one of the highlights of his career. Certainly not because of financial success, (there was none:-) but because of the band philosophy of playing music they wanted to play, not that which would make them the most money. "The musicianship in this band was amazing and allowed us to pursue the music of our passions,"

Previous to playing in the Zero Ted Band, Mac played in ballrooms all over Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota during his high school years in the 1960's. Post ZTB, Mac traveled the country playing in show bands from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to New York. He moved to the Twin Cities in 1980 and still resides there;

After playing with synthesizers for several years, Mac realized his love of technology and purchased his first personal computer in 1978. In 1985 the concept of using computers in the creation of music took over his life and led to a career in the product creation side of the music industry. He worked for music technology companies such as Coda Music Software now known as MakeMusic, (Finale music notation software), Opcode Systems, (music software and hardware) Wave Digital Systems, (turn-key computer systems for musicians) and Korg USA, distributors of Korg Technology products, Marshall Amps, and Vox Amps in the U.S.

In 2008 Mac began working for a wine importer in the Twin Cities which allowed him to pursue another one of his passions; wine. That basically topped off an incredibly lucky career in which he was able to work most of his life in areas for which he had a sincere passion.

Mac is now writing original music and working with technology that allows real-time remote collaboration and recording over the Internet with musicians in other parts of the world. He lives with his wife of 36 years, Joan, in the Twin Cities.
